About the position

The Database Management / MS Power Platform Developer at Leidos will support the electronic management of Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) compliance data for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role involves developing and maintaining databases, client-facing applications, and migrating existing databases to more advanced systems. The developer will primarily focus on front-end development using Microsoft Power Platform applications, ensuring effective integration with various data sources and providing training and support to users.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex Power Apps for mobile and browser use integrating with PostgreSQL, Dataverse, and SharePoint Online.
  • Design Power Apps for a range of end-users.
  • Develop complex Power Automate flows integrating with PostgreSQL, SharePoint, Dataverse, etc.
  • Create integrated solutions utilizing SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Ensure EOSH Database Management products can interface with other FAA databases/systems.
  • Facilitate testing of products and databases managed by the EOSH Database Management team.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and debugging issues during the creation and maintenance of EOSH Database-managed products.
  • Provide updates and modifications to Database Management Systems based on user feedback.
  • Train FAA employees who will function as Administrators.
  • Provide training and end-user support to Power Platform users.
  • Present the Database Management System and applications to FAA senior management and support contractors.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Platform development with a strong understanding of backend data sources, particularly SQL (PostgreSQL).
  • Experience in relational database management within a multi-tiered environment.
  • Hands-on experience in backend and frontend design and development.
  • Proficient with Power Apps (canvas and model-driven applications) and Power Automate.
  • Ability to integrate Power Apps and Power Automate using various data sources such as SharePoint, PostgreSQL, and Dataverse.
  • Experience with API custom connectors and on-premise gateways.
  • Experience in SharePoint administration and/or development.
  • Solid experience in Power Apps security, including role-based authorization and MS EntraID security groups.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent, with a minimum of 4+ years in a database developer role and 4+ years developing client-focused applications using Power Platform.

Nice-to-haves

  • Dashboard development experience in Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Experience in SharePoint design, development, and administration.
  • Hands-on involvement in all phases of the development process, including requirements gathering and application design.
  • DevOps experience.
  • Microsoft PL-400 or PL-600 Certification.
