About the position

The Database Manager at Shalom Austin is a full-time, exempt position responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's data systems. This role involves ensuring data integrity, collaborating with various departments, and conducting data analysis and reporting to support organizational strategies. The Database Manager will also implement data cleaning protocols and maintain data entry standards to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across various databases.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize database performance and resolve database-related issues.
  • Review and clean data sets for accuracy and usability in bulk communications, global updates, and other applications.
  • Develop and implement data cleaning protocols and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data quality.
  • Design and implement new automations to streamline data processes.
  • Monitor and optimize workflow efficiency to reduce manual efforts.
  • Document automation processes and provide training to team members.
  • Maintain and refresh existing dashboards, ensuring they reflect current data and insights.
  • Duplicate and modify dashboards to meet evolving needs.
  • Develop custom reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, clear, and tailored to the audience's needs.
  • Develop and maintain data entry protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with other departments to manage data entry needs.
  • Perform regular data backups and ensure data security.
  • Adhere to data integrity processes and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Assist with data-related compliance reporting and documentation.
  • Work closely with the departments to understand data needs and provide appropriate support.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate data insights into broader organizational strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency with sensitivity to time pressures and ability to dynamically prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with donor databases preferred, including Blackbaud eCRM, Raiser's Edge, and Salesforce.
