About the position

The Database Migration Analyst 2 position is a contract role based in Atlanta, Georgia, focused on migrating data from DB2-LUW to a PostgreSQL environment. The analyst will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating data migration processes, ensuring data integrity and quality throughout the migration. This role requires the development of data migration strategies, including data cleansing and validation, as well as the creation of complex SQL scripts and stored procedures for the ETL process. Collaboration with Application Development SMEs is essential to ensure proper data mapping and optimization of the ETL process, along with maintaining documentation on a SharePoint site.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis to migrate DB2-LUW data to a PostgreSQL environment.
  • Plan, execute, and validate data migration processes ensuring data integrity.
  • Develop and execute data migration strategies, including data cleansing and validation processes.
  • Create complex SQL scripts and stored procedures for ETL processes.
  • Work with Application Development SMEs to ensure proper data mapping.
  • Optimize the ETL process and maintain documentation on a SharePoint site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with data migration processes.
  • 5 years of experience with SQL and creating Stored Procedures.
  • 3 years of experience with a relational database, such as DB2 or SQL Server.
  • 1 year of experience with PostgreSQL.
  • 1 year of experience with DBeaver Tool or IBM Data Studio.
  • 1 year of experience with Erwin Data Modeling Tool.
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Windows Server.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ETL tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and DB2-LUW export utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Unemployment Insurance (UI) Benefits and Tax.
  • Strong knowledge of data mapping processes and best practices.
