About the position

The Database Product Support Manager for High Availability Oracle is a first-level management role focused on overseeing a team of technical professionals in a support environment. This position involves establishing departmental objectives, facilitating customer relationships, managing escalations, and ensuring high customer satisfaction. The manager will also be responsible for mentoring team members and improving service delivery quality while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate expediting resolutions to customer issues and manage escalations effectively.
  • Establish and communicate departmental objectives and implement plans to achieve goals.
  • Interact frequently with customers and other managers to maintain strong relationships.
  • Provide technical direction to team members to resolve technical issues.
  • Lead the team in creating technical documents related to unresolved issues or workarounds.
  • Continually improve the professional development of the team from both technical and service delivery perspectives.
  • Conduct weekly interface calls between Support and Development teams to discuss critical issues.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Oracle database experience including 5+ years in Support Engineer or Management roles.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Applications or related field with strong technical experience as an Oracle DBA.
  • Experience in a Real Application Cluster (RAC) environment is a plus.
  • Ability to function under pressure in critical situations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on employee motivation and operational excellence.
  • Excellent organizational and relationship-building skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle database versions 8i/9i/10g/11gR2/12c/19c.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to train engineers on technical and process aspects.
