The University of Missouri is seeking a Database Programmer Analyst to join our team in Columbia, MO. In this position, the analyst will be expected to quickly learn and apply programming languages and SQL to create efficient database queries and applications. The role will also involve providing on-call support during evenings and weekends on a rotating basis, ensuring that database systems remain operational and responsive to user needs. Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize database systems to support university operations.
  • Create and implement database queries using SQL.
  • Provide on-call support during evenings and weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and provide effective programming solutions.
  • Quickly learn and apply new programming languages as required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages and SQL.
  • Two years of programming experience using object-oriented programming languages (preferred).
  • One year of experience implementing queries using SQL (preferred).
  • Experience with People Soft/PeopleTools/Application Designer or similar enterprise solutions (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with enterprise solutions such as People Soft/PeopleTools/Application Designer.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages.
