About the position

The Database Query Developer at V2X is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server database environments, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role involves monitoring database performance, implementing backup strategies, managing user roles, and providing technical support. The position requires a proactive approach to database management and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise, while also planning for future database needs.

Responsibilities

• Installs and configures the SQL Server database environments and ensures the Maximo database setup aligns with best practices for performance and security.
• Monitors database performance, identifies bottlenecks, and applies changes to database settings or SQL queries to enhance speed and efficiency including indexing strategies, query optimization, and configuring server resources.
• Implements robust backup strategies for data integrity and availability.
• Manages user roles and permissions, encrypting data as necessary, and protecting against unauthorized access.
• Conducts database maintenance tasks, such as updating statistics, rebuilding indexes, and applying patches or updates to the SQL Server and Maximo.
• Troubleshoots problems as they arise and provides technical support to users and other IT staff.
• Monitors the growth of databases and plans for future storage, compute, and memory needs.
• Creates and manages reports, as well as extracts data for analysis purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (2+ years of experience) or Master's degree (1+ year of experience) or Associate's degree (4+ years of experience) or 6+ years of experience without a degree.
