About the position

The Database Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Appian BPM is a pivotal role that involves designing, developing, and deploying business process management solutions utilizing the Appian platform. This position requires advanced skills in Appian BPM, along with a strong foundation in Oracle and PL/SQL. The Database SME will lead and mentor a team of Appian developers, ensuring that best practices and standards are adhered to throughout the development and deployment processes. Collaboration with business analysts, project managers, and testers is essential to ensure that the solutions meet business requirements and are delivered on time. In this role, the Database SME will be responsible for designing and implementing complex process models, user interfaces, integration components, and reports using Appian Designer, Appian Sites, and Appian Tempo. The individual will apply best practices for Appian development, ensuring the quality and performance of applications. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues will be a key part of the job, as well as providing support to end-users and clients. Staying updated with the latest Appian features and technologies is crucial, as the SME will be expected to provide recommendations for improvements based on these advancements. The position also involves coordination with on-site engineers and participation in customer calls. The Database SME will be responsible for raising risks and issues, escalating them to senior management and customers as necessary. A strong understanding of database security and best practices is required, along with the ability to perform data analysis and modeling to query the Oracle database. The role includes hands-on work with SQL/PL SQL to create views and joins, as well as transforming and importing/exporting data. The SME will also be involved in data migration activities and will participate in technical design discussions, reviewing technical documents to ensure compliance and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor other Appian developers.
