About the position

The Senior Data Management Specialist at FUJIFILM Sonosite is responsible for developing and supporting embedded applications for flagship products. This role involves all stages of the development life cycle, focusing on implementing data management strategies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security. The specialist will collaborate with various teams to execute projects on schedule and mentor peers on data handling best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and analyze system and software requirements relevant to data handling.
  • Assess technical risks and estimate development effort.
  • Design and implement software frameworks for data access and handling.
  • Communicate and document designs and implementations.
  • Perform software unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Mentor peers on data handling best practices.
  • Conduct reviews of specifications and designs.
  • Propose design changes to improve code maintenance and robustness.
  • Build, debug, and verify that software designs meet defined specifications.
  • Provide technical development and software expertise to project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or related degree (master's preferred) from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 7+ years' combined experience in software development.
  • 5+ years programming experience with C++, C# experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in development/maintenance of robust data access layers.
  • Expertise in ETL solutions for data transfer.
  • Demonstrated expertise with object-oriented design.
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and metadata management concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with embedded operating systems including Windows embedded and Microsoft software development tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ISO, FDA, or other regulated product development environments.
