About the position

The Database Specialist at SolarWinds is responsible for achieving sales targets for SolarWinds products and solutions, managing customer accounts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sales growth. This role involves engaging with customers to understand their business needs, providing product demonstrations, and maintaining accurate records in Salesforce. Responsibilities

  • Achieve time-bound sales targets for SolarWinds products and solutions.
  • Manage customer accounts throughout the entire sales process.
  • Communicate updates to sales managers regarding customer interactions.
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound calls and outbound prospecting.
  • Cultivate relationships with key partners to drive sales.
  • Establish a solid understanding of customers' business needs.
  • Research and analyze competitive and industry trends for internal use.
  • Partner with sales engineering to conduct product demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity reports in Salesforce.com.
  • Identify new business and market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding assigned quotas.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert cross and up-selling opportunities.
  • Previous IT monitoring experience.
  • Ability to communicate technical and business concepts effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of pipeline and opportunity management in Salesforce.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a sales team.
  • Business planning and financial skills, including strong pipeline management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-3 years' experience in a sales or phone sales role in the IT management software market.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
