About the position

The Database Specialist at Melissa Data Corporation is responsible for managing database queries, producing export files for customers, and overseeing database functions and backups. This role is integral to a team that handles large datasets through batch file creation, SQL, and scripting, contributing to the company's mission of leading in data quality tools. Responsibilities

• Query SQL databases to provide exports in various formats from/to many sources
• Assist in SQL troubleshooting and other support functions
• Develop scripts and procedures to export data
• Create programs, files, and scripts to support optimized workflows
• Convert raw data from outside sources into the database for use in queries
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• BS degree in information- or computer-based subject, or related field
• 0-2 years of experience
• Skilled in the use of SQL server system
• Programming experience in T-SQL is a plus
• Knowledge of extracting, transforming, and loading data from various systems
• Customer service experience is recommended
• Ability to create and modify Stored Procedures
• Choose appropriate data types for efficient use of storage and optimal performance
• Good written/verbal communication and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with database backup, recovery, and maintenance
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Reside locally, within commuting distance
