About the position

The Database Sustainment Specialist (DSS) will support the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) Facility Management data capture and application support for Military Treatment Facilities (MTF). This role involves ensuring compliance with contract provisions and maintaining accurate inventory records within a computer database. The DSS is expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic and initiative in learning related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Track and maintain proper accounting of inventory within a computer database
  • Prepare data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information
  • Determine root cause of discrepancies regarding counts to inventory and make recommendations for correction
  • Provide comprehensive Monthly Workload and Performance reports
  • Perform quality assurance by ensuring the accuracy of reporting data
  • Interpret a variety of instructions and translate them accurately into a database
  • Process customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies
  • Implement procedures for ensuring quality data and inventory control
  • Verify entered customer and account data by reviewing, updating, and archiving files
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience using Microsoft Office products with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making abilities
  • Possess the ability to analyze information, interpret results, and problem-solve
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to work confidently in a results-oriented environment

Nice-to-haves

  • DMLSS experience is desirable but not mandatory; Training will be provided
  • Two years' database management experience preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge, familiarity, or background in medical facilities management is desirable
  • College Degree preferred but not required
