The One 23 Group, a Virginia-based Government Contractor, seeks a Database / System Administrator local to the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. This role involves contributing to metadata standards and strategy in conjunction with data governance leadership by creating a data catalogue to inventory and organize all of the Intelligence Community data assets in the enterprise metadata repository. The successful candidate will create processes and manage key agency projects to ensure that delivery is consistent with data governance guidelines. Participation in IC driven Data Standards committees and team discussions regarding data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of the Intelligence Community Data Lakes and Warehouses is also expected. The Database / System Administrator will design and oversee the development of stewardship dashboards and related reporting and workflows associated with the metadata tools. Planning and managing the development of efficient metadata ingestion processes with the goal of keeping the enterprise metadata repository synchronized with source systems is a critical responsibility. Additionally, the role requires performing full system upgrades and repairs on both Linux and Windows systems, troubleshooting and repairing operating system and hardware issues, and performing daily and weekly system backups and recovery while maintaining a log of system problems, errors, failures, and downtime metrics. The administrator will also maintain hardware and software inventory lists, install software releases and upgrades, evaluate and install security patches, create and ensure the operation of Active Directory and DNS, and set up user-specific access while maintaining group policies and procedures. Furthermore, acquiring system accreditation and ensuring personnel compliance with system security policies is essential.
