About the position

The Database Systems Analyst (SQL/PL-SQL) position at Radiant Digital involves working with the Department of Human Services (DHS) in Providence, RI. The role focuses on analyzing data, developing complex SQL queries, and implementing database solutions. The analyst will collaborate with experienced leads and business resources to deliver quality solutions, emphasizing database management, performance tuning, and data visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data and work with software to deliver quality solutions.
  • Design and implement various database systems.
  • Write complex SQL queries and develop PL/SQL objects.
  • Perform database and SQL performance tuning.
  • Utilize data modeling and visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
  • Implement ETL practices using tools like Informatica and Pentaho.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Troubleshoot and debug logical and functional coding errors.
  • Maintain and support database-driven reporting initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with Oracle databases.
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and developing PL/SQL objects.
  • Strong experience with database and SQL performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and visualization tools, preferably Tableau and Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of ETL practices, preferably Informatica and Pentaho.
  • Excellent understanding of database management systems (DBMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with complex DML.
  • Expert level SQL querying and database manipulation with large data sets.
  • Familiarity with code repositories, ideally Git.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in Unified Modeling Language (UML) for documenting system architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of Integrated Eligibility experience.
  • Experience developing reports submitted to federal agencies (SNAP/TANF/Medicaid).
  • Experience with Enterprise Workflow Management Tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
  • Advanced understanding of data visualization technologies such as Tableau.
  • Oracle certification(s) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, XP, and Kanban.
  • Experience in XML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks for web development.
