About the position

As a Databases Solutions Architect at Render, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers using Render's PostgreSQL and Redis services. Your role involves guiding customers through their lifecycle on Render, from migration and onboarding to long-term support. You will also be responsible for building tools and processes to address common customer challenges and enhance the user experience. This position is integral to the growth of Render's Datastores user base and involves collaboration with Product and Design teams to ensure customer needs are met in future product roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver technical solutions and coaching for customers regarding PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • Manage migration and support flows for PostgreSQL databases end-to-end.
  • Develop educational resources to help customers understand Render's database products.
  • Represent user feedback to shape Render's database products and services.
  • Contribute to a culture of professionalism and technical expertise within the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in database solutions architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals and debugging capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of enterprise applications and architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud databases and best practices.
  • Strong technical skills in developing production applications with relational databases.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and demonstrate leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developer experience including CI/CD and deployment methodologies.
  • Experience maintaining cloud infrastructure.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
