About the position

The Datacenter Change/Business Program Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing IT capacity and reducing stranded capacity within the data center environment. This position involves close collaboration with electrical engineers and critical environment field service engineers to enhance infrastructure utilization and lead retrofit efforts for legacy data centers. The role is integral to the Cloud Operation & Innovation (CO+I) team, which supports major online services and is committed to professional development and sustainability in data center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program governance, leadership, and direction for all projects at the campus level to ensure they are planned and executed on budget and schedule.
  • Support the Data Center Project Managers with project estimation, budget management, ROI calculation, and formulating project delivery strategies while establishing milestones and schedules.
  • Maintain and report project status, monitor progress, and act as an escalation point to ensure achievement of intended outcomes.
  • Support the Campus Director with field employee communication, including town halls and organizing listening sessions.
  • Liaise with the Data Center Operational Efficiency team to ensure campus-level financial planning and performance reviews are conducted according to the business fiscal calendar and objectives.
  • Support the field operations leadership team to operationalize all strategic initiatives consistently and effectively at the campus level.
  • Identify and manage scheduling conflicts, working with stakeholders to negotiate implementation dates and schedules across IT, CE, and Facilities teams.

Requirements

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments.
  • Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements, including passing a Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of experience in a 24x7x365 production environment or related experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in data center processes and tooling or related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in change control processes.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation Certification.
  • Technical college degree or certification in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
