About the position

ByteDance is seeking experienced Technical Program Managers to join our infrastructure team, which is responsible for building and operating hyper-scale datacenters and a large network of edge Points of Presence (PoPs) around the world. Our mission is to create enterprise-level multi-cloud infrastructure platforms that support ByteDance products, enabling developers to easily deploy and manage their applications. As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead the creation of Build and Maintenance Plans for all global ByteDance PoPs, ensuring that our infrastructure is robust and efficient. You will also be involved in addressing operational issues, including Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and repairs for all network and server equipment. In this role, you will drive and manage multiple projects focused on optimizing PoP build-outs, improving documentation, and developing new tools. You will design and deliver large-scale network projects that include dark fiber, leased waves, IP transit, peering circuits, colocation space, power, cross connects, and content delivery networks. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing operational processes and designing more efficient workflows, contributing to the overall success of our infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of the Build and Maintenance Plans for all global Bytedance PoPs.
  • Work on operational issues including RMA and repairs for all network and server equipment.
  • Drive and manage multiple projects around optimizing PoP build outs, improving documentation and building new tools.
  • Design and deliver large-scale network projects composed of dark fiber, leased waves, IP transit and peering circuits, colo space, power, cross connects, point of presence and content delivery networks build.
  • Work on optimizing operational processes and designing more efficient workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any equivalent technical field with relevant work experience.
  • Years of experience in edge infrastructure related fields.
  • Experience in network infrastructure space, related to solutions and/or project management experience in CDN and/or telecom-related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Technical experience in telecommunication networks including Fixed Network, Transmission and IP Technologies (IPT, IX, Peering).
  • Knowledge of co-location infrastructure including facilities, site selection, operations.
  • Knowledge of Linux and hardware systems.
