About the position

As a Datacenter Engineer at World Wide Technology, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our data center operations. This position requires a strong foundation in data center management, including hands-on experience with server hardware, storage systems, and networking equipment. In this role, you will work closely with a team of engineers and IT professionals to maintain and enhance our data center capabilities. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be vital in addressing complex technical challenges and ensuring the seamless operation of our data center. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders, providing technical support and guidance as needed. Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize data center operations to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for data center management and operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to server hardware, storage systems, and networking equipment.
  • Analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to provide technical support and guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Data Center Engineer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center management and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with server hardware (e.g., Dell, HP, Cisco), storage systems, and networking equipment.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Server+, etc.) are a plus.
