About the position

VLCM, a leading IT solutions provider for 40 years, is seeking an experienced Datacenter Solutions Engineer to join our team in Murray, UT. In this role, you will primarily focus on post-sales installation, support, and maintenance of our IT solutions, with some pre-sales and architecture work involvement. As a Solutions Engineer, your primary responsibility will be successfully implementing and supporting market-leading IT solutions. You will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure these solutions' seamless deployment, migration, and support. Additionally, you will engage in pre-sales activities such as proposal development, proof-of-concept construction, demonstrations, roadmaps, and architectural design sessions. You will be responsible for the design of service engagements in functional IT areas such as Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, End User Computing/VDI, Hybrid Connectivity, Security, High-Performance Computing, and Storage, Backup, and Recovery. To be successful in this role, you must position yourself as a trusted advisor to our clients and provide recommendations for various migrations and technical implementation roadmaps. You should be able to design state-of-the-art technical solutions that address our customers' scalability, reliability, security, and performance requirements. In addition, you will collaborate with other project teams on technical solutions and help improve VLCM's services IP.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support market-leading IT solutions post-sales.
• Engage in pre-sales activities including proposal development and proof-of-concept construction.
• Design service engagements in areas such as Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service.
• Provide recommendations for migrations and technical implementation roadmaps.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners for seamless deployment and support of IT solutions.
• Design technical solutions addressing scalability, reliability, security, and performance requirements.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience designing and implementing complex IT solutions.
• 5+ years of experience working with mid-market or enterprise environments across multiple verticals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
• Motivated and self-driven with a focus on consulting around IT-based solutions and services.
