About the position

The Data Center Technician role is a critical position within our organization, primarily focused on deploying new data center alarming functionality. This position requires a keen understanding of electrical schematics and the ability to extract and encode alarming parameters from design documents. The technician will work closely with data center operators to ensure that the alarm configurations are accurate and functional, thereby enhancing the overall safety and efficiency of the data center operations. In this role, the technician will be responsible for gathering essential parameters such as amperage and voltage at alarm locations, as well as identifying the equipment associated with each alarm point. This information will be encoded into a structured format that our software can utilize to generate alarm configurations. The technician will also be tasked with monitoring the performance of these alarms, correcting any errors that may arise, and ultimately delivering reliable production alarms to the data center operators. Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in reading engineering documentation and schematics, with a proven ability to translate non-structured data into a standardized format. Proficiency in Excel is essential, as the technician will be managing large datasets and utilizing Excel for data entry and analysis. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for reporting progress and addressing any blockers encountered during the deployment process.
