About the position

The Datacenter Technician position involves working onsite in Memphis, TN, on a 32-day contract. The role focuses on cleaning, inspecting, patching, and certifying fiber optic cabling for a large datacenter project. Technicians are expected to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, and must be physically capable of handling the demands of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, inspect, patch, and certify fiber optic cabling.
  • Connect pre-terminated fiber optic cabling to patch panels and High Performance Compute (HPC) systems.
  • Test fiber optic cabling using Certification Tier I Loss test equipment.
  • Use fiber optic scopes to inspect connector end faces.
  • Understand and apply Data Center cabling standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience working with fiber optic cabling and testing.
  • Basic knowledge of fiber optic cable types and connector types.
  • Ability to lift at least +50 lbs, including ladders and cabling.
  • Ability to climb and work on a 10 ft ladder for extended durations.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and walk for long periods.

Nice-to-haves
