About the position

Milestone Technologies is seeking two Datacenter Technicians for onsite roles in uptown Minneapolis. This position is a 6+ month contract with a strong possibility of converting to a full-time employee (FTE). The role requires the technicians to work onsite five days a week, focusing on data center operations and support.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack of servers and networking equipment.
• Provision and reprovision operating systems from USB or network share.
• Bootstrap network devices and configure IP addresses.
• Utilize basic Linux skills and scripting for operational tasks.
• Manage and troubleshoot Ansible scripts.
• Work with DNS and DHCP configurations.
• Utilize ticketing systems, preferably Jira, for issue tracking.
• Maintain server hardware including HP, Dell, and Supermicro servers.
• Implement basic networking protocols and components, including Cisco, Arista, and Juniper.
• Apply data center best practices, including fault tolerance and redundant cabling.
• Ensure strong cable management and run fiber and copper cabling in the data center.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of rack and stack experience in a data center environment.
• Experience with OS provisioning and reprovisioning.
• 1-2 years of basic Linux and scripting experience.
• CompTIA Server+ certification (preferred).
• ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).
• Working knowledge of DNS and DHCP.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, preferably Jira.
• Knowledge of server hardware (HP, Dell, Supermicro).
• Understanding of basic networking components and protocols (Cisco, Arista, Juniper).
• Knowledge of data center practices and infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in Data Center technologies (CCNA, CCENT)
