About the position

The Night Shift Hardware Lab Technician role at Biblioso involves managing the physical infrastructure for hardware engineering and testing at the Microsoft campus in Hillsboro, OR. This full-time position requires working on-site during night shifts from Monday to Friday, focusing on server deployment, troubleshooting, and support activities within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of end-to-end physical infrastructure for Hardware Engineering and Testing.
  • Coordinate vendor and logistics for deployment.
  • Integrate support and coordinate with other lab sites for solution delivery.
  • Implement physical setups including racks, network equipment, power distribution units, and monitoring/automation tools.
  • Build and deploy servers with associated wiring, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Design and deploy cabling and power requirements, covering electrical engineering, board troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Design and manage servers, VMs, and private networks/testing domains using Hyper-V, AD with integrated DNS and imaging, and SCCM.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Perform typical support activities, including handling requests for issues and changes, investigating root causes, and implementing fixes at all software and hardware levels.
  • Implement designs from various teams to support hardware validation and qualification work.
  • Support remote workers with physical dependencies for qual and validation work.
  • Set up and configure equipment for threshold and physical validation, such as oscilloscopes and capture mechanisms.
  • Coordinate with ODM/ISV for on-site physical rework, including firmware flashing, hotfixes, and board soldering.

Requirements

  • Experience with physical infrastructure management for hardware engineering and testing.
  • Proficiency in server deployment and configuration.
  • Knowledge of Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, and SCCM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Experience with electrical engineering and board troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automation tools for monitoring and management.
  • Familiarity with vendor coordination and logistics management.
  • Knowledge of network equipment and power distribution units.
