About the position

The Data Center Technician at Sunrise Systems, Inc. is responsible for supporting company-specific servers and those located at customer data centers. This role requires a balance of strong technical skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail. The technician will perform hardware setups, diagnostics, and troubleshooting while ensuring minimal disruption to customers and business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns of hardware according to specific instructions.
  • Assists and provides guidance to other technicians in completing complex tasks.
  • Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Administers hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures.
  • Communicates, reports, and escalates incidents to appropriate management.

Requirements

  • Exceptional server hardware knowledge with understanding of component and system failures.
  • Ability to conduct failure analysis on field issues.
  • Solid experience with IPMI utilization in diagnostics.
  • Experience in real-time issue resolution during deployment execution.
  • Basic Linux and Windows scripting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a data center technician.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
  • CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience.
  • Windows OS experience.
  • Associate degree in computer science, Information technology or equivalent experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Linux PXE services.
  • CCNA certification preferred.
  • MCP/MSCE certification preferred.
