About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves the installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure within a data center environment. Technicians will be responsible for delivering sustainable solutions, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety and quality standards. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a strong understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities

• Installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on improvement.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
• Follow all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
• Maintain orderly paperwork and run service jobs.
• Install ladder racking and seismic bracing above and under raised floors.
• Perform field terminations and labeling of cables.

Requirements

• Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
• Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand floor plans.
• Familiarity with wiring schemes and wiring testing.
• Ability to pull all types of low voltage cable.
• Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with verbal, written, visual, and listening skills.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate required equipment and a computer keyboard.
