About the position

The Datacenter Technician role at Insight Global involves supporting company-specific servers and assisting in data center buildouts at customer locations. The position requires a strong technical background in hardware and physical network setup, along with excellent communication skills. The technician will also mentor and train other service technicians, provide feedback, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support company-specific servers and assist in data center buildouts at customer locations.
  • Conduct failure analysis on-field issues until the root cause is determined.
  • Provide timely, detailed, precise, and accurate feedback to the Engineering teams on failures and serviceability of servers.
  • Create documentation on both technical and non-technical processes.
  • Contribute to the knowledge library with KB Articles, SOPs, and lessons learned.
  • Mentor and train other service technicians in the field.
  • Lead and drive initiatives to conclusion.

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of experience working within a Data Center on the hardware and server side.
  • Experience working within the IT helpdesk space.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a geographically dispersed team environment.
  • Strong server hardware knowledge and understanding of component and system-type failures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PerScholas school.
