About the position

The Data Center Technician - Level 4 role involves preparing, staging, and performing startups and shutdowns of data center equipment. The technician will ensure compliance with safety protocols and deployment standards while applying advanced diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues. This position requires a strong understanding of data center operations and the ability to communicate effectively with management and team leads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of data center equipment according to specific instructions.
• Perform post-execution quality checks to verify proper setup of grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
• Apply advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to identify issues quickly.
• Decommission hardware for complex changes and systems following standard procedures.
• Verify security compliance for decommissions.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management units and Technician Leads.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware components.
• 5+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Previous experience working in a data center environment.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
