About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves managing all phases of data center installation projects under the guidance of senior staff. The technician will take ownership of projects from the engineering work package to project completion, ensuring high-quality installation and customer satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while being detail-oriented and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of data center installation projects under the guidance of the Lead Technician, Supervisor, and Project Manager.
• Take total ownership from the receipt of completed engineering work package to project completion and final documentation.
• Exhibit great customer service and deliver projects according to customer expectations.
• Stay current with the latest technologies and installation procedures.
• Interpret test results from fiber and copper testers and troubleshoot issues with the fiber or copper cable plant.
• Complete all paperwork required for assigned projects accurately.
• Run small, medium, and large projects when required.

Requirements

• 1+ years of data center experience, preferably with cable and fiber.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 10 general certification required within 1 week of start date (online completion).
• Aerial Lift certification required within 1 week of start date.
• Ability to interpret test results from fiber and copper testers.
• Ability to lift various items (up to 75 lbs) and stand for long periods of time.

Nice-to-haves

• BICSI and industry certifications are preferred.
