About the position
The ETL DataStage Developer position at UNITED IT TECHNICAL SERVICES involves designing and constructing scalable data management systems to meet company requirements. The role focuses on integrating new data management technologies, developing processes for data mining and modeling, and collaborating with various teams to ensure data reliability and quality.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain data management systems.
- Ensure all systems meet business and industry requirements.
- Integrate new data management and software engineering technologies into existing structures.
- Develop processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
- Create custom software components and analytics applications.
- Research new uses for existing data.
- Employ various technological languages and tools to connect systems.
- Collaborate with team members on project goals.
- Recommend improvements for data reliability and quality.
- Understand the Disputes business process and data behind the case management vendor application.
- Build data products for case management data in the Snowflake environment.
- Extract data and push to Snowflake, designing data products that meet compliance rules.
Requirements
- Technical Degree or related work experience
- Experience with non-relational & relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB)
- Experience programming and/or architecting data extraction using DataStage or other tools
- Expert in writing complex SQL queries
- Good understanding of data modeling concepts
- Experience working with JSON file formats
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lead and follow up on work
- Ability to document work and share knowledge with the team
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Snowflake and DBT
- Some exposure to modern data engineering toolset
