About the position
The Day Lead position at ABM Industries is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of assigned areas within facilities. This full-time role requires effective communication and organizational skills to ensure a clean and safe environment for clients and staff. The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, focusing on heavy cleaning duties and maintaining supplies in public areas.
Responsibilities
- Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Responsible for cleaning and stocking supplies in all public areas inside and outside of assigned building, including restrooms as needed.
- Respond to business management needs in a timely and effective manner.
- Gathers and empties trash.
- Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
- Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
- Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
- Keeps janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintains equipment in good working order.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Monitors building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure hazards are not created.
- Oversees day-to-day operations as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments, including a ten-year work history if available.
