About the position

The Day Program & Activity Instructor position at Achievement House, Inc. is a part-time role focused on providing instruction and support to individuals with disabilities. The instructor will work in the Activity Center in Arroyo Grande, helping participants achieve their personal and professional goals through community and vocational skills training. This role emphasizes compliance with individual service plans and promotes adaptive skills and appropriate behaviors among participants.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous instruction for independent community and vocational skills objectives that correspond with individuals' abilities and development.
• Ensure compliance with Individual's ISP and services stated in the Service Design, and supply instructions and techniques as necessary.
• Teach and promote proper activities and appropriate use of time.
• Coordinate, document, and review activity schedules for individuals served.
• Instruct individuals on achieving and maintaining adaptive skills and appropriate behaviors.

Requirements

• Valid California driver's license (driving is required for this position)
• Ability to pass a LiveScan background check
• Reliable transportation
• Patience, compassion, and ability to be a role model for adults with disabilities.
