About the position

The Day Program Manager at Community Options is responsible for leading a team that provides person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, supporting staff, and ensuring that the unique needs of each individual are met through effective programmatic initiatives and communication with families and guardians.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train teams to support programmatic initiatives and daily routines.
  • Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing for shifts.
  • Provide training on daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Manage team performance through effective communication, training, and employee recognition.
  • Develop and implement activity programs including the Meaningful Day curriculum.
  • Communicate with families and guardians of individuals supported as needed.
  • Develop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP)/Person-Centered Plans (PCP) with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure individuals are supported per their ISP/PCP meal planning and behavior management.
  • Complete program documentation and billable records accurately and timely.
  • Assist with monitoring the finances of individuals ensuring purchases are approved and documented.
  • Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and report any concerns immediately.
  • Manage relationships with families and guardians of individuals in care.
  • Ensure work locations and vehicles are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • May be required to fill shifts when staffing issues arise.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of state regulatory agency operations and standards relevant to supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Experience with problem-solving against multiple priorities.
  • Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving support.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
