About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) position is a full-time role focused on providing care and support to clients in a day program setting. The DSP will engage clients in various life enrichment activities, assist with personal care, and promote community inclusion. This role is integral to enhancing the quality of life for clients through meaningful interactions and activities.

Responsibilities

• Encourage clients to engage in day activities, outings, and community inclusion.
• Be engaged throughout the day with clients in activities or community outings.
• Assist clients in personal care such as toileting, changing briefs, occasionally bathing, feeding, and preparing meals as needed.
• Transfer clients using appropriate body mechanics and assistive equipment.
• Assist in meeting the transportation needs of clients including, assisting in loading, and unloading of clients in a safe and reliable manner.
• Complete required documentation for assigned clients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working with clients who need assistance with personal care.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to use electronic devices, including databases and internet-based applications.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol test following a conditional job offer.
