About the position

The Day Shift Production Supervisor - FSM at Celgard, LLC is responsible for overseeing the production team in a manufacturing environment, specifically focusing on the operational aspects of the Ovens, Lamination, and Extrusion areas. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement while managing a team of manufacturing technicians. The supervisor will ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, facilitate training, and lead initiatives to enhance productivity and employee performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage all operational aspects of the Ovens, Lamination, and Extrusion areas.
• Lead behavior-based safety initiatives for the shift.
• Plan, organize, supervise, and schedule manpower and resources.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding new team members.
• Ensure effective operation of the production process using key operating indicators.
• Manage employee performance and development.
• Provide leadership in troubleshooting and solving production issues.
• Maintain and analyze shift measures and conduct reporting.
• Ensure equitable working relationships with all team members.
• Facilitate continuous improvement and participate in cross-functional meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Supervisory experience is a must.
• Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong math skills and solid mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to learn and use problem-solving and decision-making tools.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to build effective workplace relationships and motivate employees required.
• Knowledge of safety principles in a manufacturing environment required.
• Ability to work a 12-hour day shift, 2-2-3 schedule required.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or QS9000 operations is a plus.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and 5S is a plus.
