About the position

La Petite Academy of Shawnee (63rd St) is excited to announce that we are hiring for the position of Assistant Twos/Support Teacher. This is a full-time role that offers a competitive hourly wage of $15 to $16. We are committed to fostering a strong community where individual skills and experiences contribute to our mission of caring for the children and families we serve every day. As part of our team, you will have access to a FREE Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialing program or an annual tuition reimbursement of $1,000 for eligible employees. We also provide career growth opportunities at multiple locations, including our Master Teacher program and potential school management positions. In this role, you will be responsible for following all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child in your classroom. You will engage with children and families, developing your ability to observe, assess, and plan for children's needs. Our proprietary curriculum will guide you in creating fun and interactive learning experiences. We are looking for energetic, dependable, and passionate individuals who are at least 18 years old and have experience in a licensed childcare center or a related field. You must be able to meet state requirements for education and our center's requirements, and be physically able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in activities with children. We offer a supportive work environment with no nights, weekends, or holidays, and we will provide training to help you succeed in your role. Responsibilities

  • Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child in your classroom.
  • Develop your ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children.
  • Effectively communicate with families regarding children's progress and needs.
  • Implement our proprietary curriculum while creating fun, interactive learning experiences for the children.
  • Engage in physical activity with children indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
  • Ability to meet state requirements for education and center requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice-to-haves

  • Child Development Associate Certification
