About the position

The Daycare Assistant Teacher at Smart Steps Learning Academy is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to maintaining a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment for all children, including those with disabilities.
• Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers.
• Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging social interaction and emotional growth.
• Maintain classroom management to ensure a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
• Provide first aid when necessary and maintain health and safety standards within the daycare setting.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational programs and share best practices.
• Support children with special needs by adapting activities to meet their individual requirements.
• Communicate effectively with parents about their child's development and any concerns that may arise.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma
• Experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting is essential.
• Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Previous experience as a nanny or caregiver for children can be beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
