Daycare Assistant Teacher

About the position

The Assistant Teacher at Kindercare Learning Centers plays a vital role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for children. This position involves assisting lead teachers in implementing a nationally recognized curriculum that supports children's social, physical, verbal, and cognitive development. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for creating a safe space for children to learn and grow, while also building meaningful relationships with families and collaborating with center staff to achieve educational goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with the implementation of KCE's curriculum tailored to each child's unique needs.
• Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to play and learn.
• Partner with parents to provide the best care and education for their children.
• Support the center's success by collaborating with staff and leadership to meet goals around enrollment and accreditation.
• Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, and community contacts.

Requirements

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
• Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Must meet state-specific guidelines for the role.
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and engage in physical activity with children.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Nice-to-haves

• Customer service experience (1 year preferred).
• Childcare experience (1 year preferred).
• CPR Certification (preferred).
• First Aid Certification (preferred).
