About the position

La Petite Academy of Shawnee is seeking a Lead Teacher for preschool-aged children. This role involves providing high-quality care and education to children, following licensing guidelines, and implementing a proprietary curriculum. The Lead Teacher will engage with children and families, ensuring a nurturing and educational environment while also having opportunities for career advancement within the Learning Care Group.

Responsibilities

• Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child in the classroom.
• Develop the ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children, as well as effectively communicate with families.
• Complete extensive training on child care, preschool, and development topics.
• Implement the proprietary curriculum while creating fun, interactive learning experiences for the children.

Requirements

• Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
• Ability to meet state requirements for education and center requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Nice-to-haves

• CDA credentialing or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with preschool curriculum development.
