About the position
The Daycare Teacher / Teaching Assistant position at North Charleston United Methodist Learning Center involves caring for and educating children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about nurturing young minds and creating a safe, engaging environment for children. The center offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration among staff to ensure the best care for children.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on-time, everyday
- Clock-in and clock-out everyday
- Maintain a safe and sanitary classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Supervise snack and lunch-time and ensure safety at all times
- Supervise outdoor playtime and ensure safety at all times
- Organize age-appropriate activities for your classroom
- Track children's activities through our online system and provide an electronic report to parents at the end of each day
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other teachers and have fun!
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of state background check
- Successful completion of health assessments
- Ability to arrive on-time, everyday
- Past experience working with children between 6 weeks - 5 years old
- Exceptional patience for children between these ages
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in childcare (1 year preferred)
- First Aid Certification
