About the position
Genesis Learning Academy in Fayetteville is seeking an experienced and energetic Daycare Teacher who is passionate about working with school-age children. The role involves creating a nurturing and educational environment, leading a diverse team of staff, and ensuring compliance with licensing and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, along with a commitment to fostering positive relationships with children, families, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain a nurturing, educational, supportive, and loving environment at the center
- Develop open lines of communication with staff, parents, and children
- Provide leadership to diverse staff and mentor the team of teachers
- Establish a collaborative work culture that promotes teamwork
- Maintain licensing and safety standards
- Oversee programs and activities to engage and educate young children
- Provide excellent customer service
- Cultivate positive, authentic relationships with children, families, staff, state licensing authorities, and the local community.
Requirements
- Valid Teaching Certification license
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Experience in teaching or working in a childcare setting
- High school diploma or GED
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of early childhood center operations
- Knowledge of NCDHHS licensing regulations and developmentally appropriate best practices
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively build authentic relationships with children, families, and staff
- Proficient with basic computer skills, especially email and Facebook
- Physically able to lift 60 pounds, stand for long periods, and engage in physical activities with children.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in a child care center (1 year preferred)
- CPR Certification (preferred)
- NC Qualifying Letter (preferred)
