About the position

This position is focused on providing critical production support for various database applications, including DB2, SQL Server, and Teradata. The role involves upgrading DB2 z/OS to the latest version, configuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and conducting performance tuning across different platforms. Additionally, the position requires leading data modeling efforts for new applications, training junior DBAs, and responding to critical system issues on a 24/7 basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical production support for DB2, SQL Server, and Teradata applications.
• Upgrade DB2 z/OS to the latest supported version.
• Install and configure Always On HA and DR with multiple nodes on Windows Server Failover Clustering.
• Conduct performance tuning for the database system and applications on z/OS and Windows platforms.
• Assist project teams with technical solutions.
• Lead data modeling for new applications and enhancements.
• Train junior DBAs in database technology.
• Respond to and resolve 'production down' and critical system/application issues on a 24-hour basis.
• Create Root Cause Analysis for incidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

• 15+ years of Database Administration experience.
• Excellent automation and scripting skills using REXX, QMF, JCL, and PowerShell.
• Senior level experience with IBM Mainframe family of products.
• Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
• Experience working in a 24x7 production environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong experience with DB2 and SQL Server.
• Experience with Teradata is a plus.
• Knowledge of RACF is a plus.
• Experience of working with OIT is a plus.
