By being a responsible steward for government programs, we help the federal government deliver on its promises to our people. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DB2 DBA to join our team. Your role will involve overseeing database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our DB2 databases. As a DB2 Database Administrator, you will administer and maintain IBM's DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management. You will troubleshoot and resolve database issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors as necessary. Implementing and maintaining database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms, will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also conduct database capacity planning and forecasting to accommodate future growth and changing business requirements, as well as develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity. Collaboration with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for improved performance is essential. Staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in DB2 database administration and recommending their adoption as appropriate will be part of your ongoing duties. Additionally, you will create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
