About the position

The DB2 Data Analyst position is a permanent role that offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 annually, along with a bonus structure of 10-12%. This role is fully remote within the USA and does not offer C2C or sponsorship at this time. The ideal candidate will have between 5 to 10 years of experience in database management and analysis, particularly with DB2 on z/OS and DB2 Universal Database (UDB). In this position, the analyst will be responsible for installing and maintaining database software across various platforms, including DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB. The role requires collaboration with the application development team to manage service requests and ensure the ongoing monitoring of database environments. The analyst will also manage backup and recovery strategies for databases and review SQL queries for performance optimization. Additionally, the analyst will administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and security of all company database structures. This includes assisting in the design and implementation of physical database designs and performing capacity management for storage, CPU, and memory resources. The role also involves participating in system performance tuning and capacity planning for DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server databases, as well as scheduling and testing new products and improvements to the computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain Database Software on various platforms including DB2 on z/OS and DB2 Universal Database (UDB).
  • Work with Oracle, Oracle Golden Gate, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB.
  • Collaborate with the application development team to manage service requests.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of various database environments.
  • Manage databases backup and recovery strategies and review SQL for performance considerations.
  • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and security of all Company database structures.
  • Assist in designing and implementing physical database designs.
  • Perform capacity management of storage, CPU, and memory.
  • Participate in system performance tuning and capacity planning for DB2/Oracle/SQL Server databases.
  • Schedule, plan, install, and test new products and improvements to computer systems.
  • Assist with integrating different products to ensure they work properly together.
  • Design, develop, and implement software routines to automate repetitive database administration tasks.
  • Monitor for exceptional database conditions that require immediate notice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • One or more years of experience working with database administration across Mainframe, Linux, and Windows environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn in a constantly changing environment.
