Infosys is seeking a DB2 zOS Administrator who will play a crucial role in collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering DB2 databases on zOS and Linux, providing production support, and maintaining the existing DB2 system infrastructure and databases. This position requires a proactive approach to managing database environments, including executing disaster recovery exercises, setting up daily copy and backup utilities, and monitoring those jobs to ensure data integrity and availability. The DB2 zOS Administrator will be tasked with creating DB2 instances, configuring and updating licenses, and performing various System DBA activities. This includes installing and configuring DB2 products in MVS using the SMPE installation procedure. The role also involves participating in on-call support rotations, providing timely resolution of database-related issues, and running all online and standalone IBM utilities such as unloading, loading, and reorganizing databases while collecting statistics for these processes. In addition to the core responsibilities, the administrator will review and update system parameters for optimal performance, bind plans for DB2 dependent products, and maintain RD & FSA DB2 subsystems. The role requires analyzing data, developing, and executing appropriate DDLs to support various projects, as well as providing support for installations and configurations of other database management systems like CA-IDMS, ASG-Tracer, and Natural. The position demands a strong focus on performance tuning of DB2 subsystems running on AIX, along with backup, recovery, and installation of DB2 databases, ensuring that the test environments are recreated or set up as needed.
