About the position

The DB2 Z OS Administrator at Infosys is responsible for collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure the seamless integration and performance of database systems. This role involves administering DB2 databases on zOS and Linux, providing production support, and maintaining existing DB2 system infrastructure and databases. The position requires a strong background in database administration, particularly in DB2 environments, and the ability to execute various DBA functions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams for database integration and performance.
  • Administer DB2 databases on zOS and Linux.
  • Provide production support and maintenance for existing DB2 systems.
  • Execute migration and configuration of DB2 subsystems.
  • Set up daily copy and backup utilities and monitor jobs.
  • Create DB2 instances and perform system DBA activities.
  • Install and configure DB2 products in MVS using SMPE installation procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for database support and resolve database-related issues.
  • Perform performance tuning of DB2 subsystems running on AIX.
  • Execute recovery operations and backup procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in lieu of education.
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a DB2 zOS Administrator.
  • Experience in administering DB2 databases on zOS and Linux.
  • Experience in production support and maintenance of DB2 systems.
  • Experience in migration and configuration of DB2 subsystems.
  • Ability to execute DR exercises and set up daily copy and backup utilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CA-IDMS, ASG-Tracer, ASG-Fast Access, SumTotal-Preference, IBI-FOCUS, Natural, and ADABAS for FAA.
  • Experience in performance tuning of DB2 subsystems.
  • Desire to work in a global delivery environment.
