About the position

Unison Systems is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team in Glendale, CO. This position is a direct hire opportunity where the primary responsibility will be the support and administration of all client database operations. The Database Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of the databases, which are vital to our client's operations. The successful candidate will be involved in various tasks including data integrity checks, security measures, replication processes, and database backup and recovery strategies. Additionally, performance tuning and maintenance of the databases will be key responsibilities, ensuring that the systems run efficiently and effectively. The Database Administrator will also be tasked with planning and implementing disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data against potential loss. This includes analyzing and tuning database performance to optimize operations. The role requires the development of Transact-SQL objects and writing Data Manipulation Language (DML) for production support. The candidate will design schemas as required and monitor production environments to ensure smooth operations. Providing data architecture guidance and facilitating the efficient flow of data within the organization will also be part of the job. Moreover, the Database Administrator will perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations, working closely with developers to assist them in their interactions with the databases. Participation in an on-call rotation is expected, ensuring that support is available when needed. This position offers a dynamic work environment where the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects and initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support and administration of all client database operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in production database administration.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2005, 2008 R2, Replication, Integration Services, Reporting, and Transact-SQL.
  • Experience with third-party monitoring and backup tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and provide troubleshooting resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize, work effectively, independently, and collaboratively in a deadline-sensitive environment.
  • Knowledge of XML, SQL Trace, and performance monitoring.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the mortgage industry is helpful, but not required.
  • Windows PowerShell scripting is helpful, but not required.
