About the position

The DBA Developer at HCA Healthcare is responsible for monitoring and managing MS SQL databases, developing and maintaining systems and user databases, and producing reports for various operational needs. This role involves ensuring data integrity, supporting EDI infrastructure, and leading projects aimed at process improvement and reporting enhancements. The position requires collaboration with end-users and external partners to ensure quality and compliance in data management processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operation of MS SQL database and jobs.
• Analyze, develop, organize, coordinate, and review projects.
• Produce reports for utilization management, quality improvement, disease management, finance, and claims.
• Develop and maintain systems and user databases.
• Perform various DBA duties including replication, backup, recovery, and DB security setup/maintenance.
• Create, schedule, and maintain reports in SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
• Monitor jobs run through PPMSI's scheduler and correct any anomalies.
• Lead projects for process improvement and reporting infrastructure changes.
• Document processes and maintain report request logs.
• Keep upper management informed of system and operational issues.
• Ensure quality of reports and develop testing scenarios with end-user collaboration.
• Conduct thorough testing and build test environments as needed.
• Coordinate testing of system enhancements/implementations with external partners.
• Maintain the EDI application, including ETL design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Develop EDI processes that meet HIPAA compliance and interpret technical requirements for data exchanges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or work experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and EDI.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access and SSIS.
