As a Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in Oracle and SQL Server, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our clients' database environments. This position is based in Ashburn, VA, and offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of remote and on-site work. Your primary responsibilities will include the installation and configuration of various database systems, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra. You will be tasked with implementing robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability, as well as applying necessary patches and upgrades to maintain security and performance across all database instances. Daily maintenance will be a key aspect of your role, where you will conduct monitoring and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal database health. Performance tuning will also be a significant part of your responsibilities, as you will work on optimizing query performance and implementing effective indexing strategies. Additionally, you will participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for production support, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
