About the position

The DBA/SQL Developer position at USSOCOM involves designing, creating, maintaining, and managing Command databases and ETL solutions. The role requires applying DoD data standards to software applications and database elements, providing technical support for database operations, and ensuring optimal database performance. The developer will work within a team and utilize Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality database solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, maintain, and manage Command databases and ETL solutions.
• Apply DoD data standards to software applications and database data elements.
• Provide technical support for database creation, modification, testing, administration, monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Design and create SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.
• Provide SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for information delivery.
• Monitor and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement data management standards, requirements, and specifications.
• Implement data mining and data warehousing applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or Associate's Degree with relevant experience, or ten years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least ten years of documented experience in database management systems, query languages, and table relationships.
• Knowledge in data analysis for normalization, ETL, and business rules.
• Experience with normalized database table design and referential integrity.
• Proficiency in T-SQL for writing functions, views, and stored procedures.
• Skill in database creation and development in Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS and SQL Reports.
• Ability to conduct queries and develop algorithms for data analysis.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimizing database performance.
