About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to the Distribution Center management and team members. This role involves collaboration with the DC Human Resources Business Partner (DCHRBP) on recruitment initiatives, new hire processes, and team member relations. The specialist will assist in various HR functions, including orientation, benefits education, and maintaining essential HR documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Track and maintain emergency contact information, team member listings, turnover reports, etc.
  • Copy and distribute phone lists for supervisors and various other documents.
  • Ensure proper phone coverage for the human resources office and provide telephone coverage for the DCHRBP and DC manager as needed.
  • Order, distribute, and process billing information for uniform shirts for DC team members and supervisors.
  • Generate and prepare monthly evaluation reports for all DC team members and distribute to supervisors.
  • Schedule interviews, prescreen applicants, track drug screens, and assist in recruiting efforts.
  • Process new hire paperwork and assist with new hire data entry into the Company system.
  • Create team member badges and prepare new hire orientation materials.
  • Provide support to team members regarding benefits and HR-related questions.
  • Coordinate team member activities and goodwill projects, including the Why We Work Safe program.
  • Attend Town Hall and Safety Committee meetings, write meeting minutes, and distribute them.
  • Support the DCHRBP with investigation protocols and collection of team member statements.
  • Assist with the annual wage survey process and workman's compensation paperwork.
  • Participate in DC Audit including documentation and Employment and Safety posters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1+ year of office or human resources experience
  • Proficient computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), ten-key, data entry, and typing
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-3 years of office or human resources experience
  • Prior understanding of basic HR laws and procedures
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
