About the position

The Maintenance Mechanic position at HomeGoods in Lordstown, Ohio, is focused on ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various distribution center equipment and systems. This role requires troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment, including conveyor systems, HVAC systems, and plumbing fixtures. Responsibilities

• Maintains the safe, efficient, and proper operations of a variety of the distribution center equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoots and repairs any/all equipment related to operations and facility maintenance, including conveyor systems, MHE, HVAC systems, air compressors, dock equipment, and plumbing fixtures.
• Constructs, installs, repairs, and maintains equipment.
• Completes tests, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs independently and as directed.
• Reads and understands basic blueprints.
• Has a basic understanding of carpentry and mechanics, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Completes and maintains maintenance-related logs and documentation related to maintenance actions and parts usage.
• Performs light fabrication as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years' experience in a maintenance environment with proven knowledge and proficiency.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and welding.
• Effective and clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with OSHA/NFPA standards.
• Ability to operate all shop equipment and hand tools.
• Maintains safe work practices including wearing PPE, using LOTO, and following ARC Flash requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. constantly and up to 75 lbs. as needed.
• Comfortable working at heights as needed.
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and work in outside climates.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Initiative to take on tasks above and beyond their role.
• Familiarity with the operation of computers and tablets.
